Outbreak Investigation Report

Outbreak Case Investigation Presentation:

Oswego – An Outbreak of Gastrointestinal Illness Following a Church Supper

For this activity, the clerks were given an Outbreak Investigation Case File sourced from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) .

After completing the case study,  the students should be able to:
1) Define the terms "outbreak" and "epidemic"
2) List the steps in the investigation of an outbreak.
3) Draw, interpret, and describe the value of an epidemic curve;
4) Compare food-specific attack rates to identify possible vehicles;
5) List reasons for investigating an outbreak that has apparently ended.

The Epidemic Curve generated by the Group.

On with the discussion of the case.
